The curriculum development project was an invigorating one because I was able to select my own topic instead of choosing from a bank of subjects provided by the professor. Providing students with information about comprehensive sex education is my passion and there is such a huge need for it within Texas' public school systems, therefore having to conjure up relative information to use for my revised curriculum was not difficult at all. By having had undergraduate course work through the Health Studies program may have really helped because writing goals and objectives were simple and preparing lesson plans were simple to me as well. I guess I feel that they were simple to me because these are things that 1) I have had experience with and 2) I enjoy preparing curriculums. I think that I may have added a new interest to my future employment search :) The portion of the project that I did not favor was making the chart and I believe that this was due to the fact that Dr. Bailey had difficulties opening the chart and I am such an anal retentive person that this really annoyed me. It wasn't her or my fault, we had compatible computer programs, it was just one of those things that sometimes happens with computer software.
Having taken all of my classes online and using Blackboard, I did miss the accessibility of it. Preparing our own blogs and using it exclusively for communication was fine, but I wish that it had a different format. Such as seeing posts and comments immediately on the face page, I think this hindered students from being able to comment on more postings like they would have using Blackboard.
The class overall was well planned, very organized with lots of open communication. I always enjoy taking classes with Dr. Bailey. It has been a pleasure.
